Anthony Ortiz

Anthony “Tony” Ortiz, 53, of Topeka, passed away October 12, 2018 after his courageous battle with prostate cancer.

Anthony was born in Aurora, Colorado on February 9, 1965, son of Arthur and Teresa Mendoza Ortiz. Anthony lived most of his life in Topeka. He was a proud father of three children, who gifted him with three grandchildren, whom he adored. Anthony worked for the City of Topeka and for Hallmark Cards majority of his life.

In 2017 he was married to the love of his life, Kimberly Forman Ortiz, who lovingly cared for him during his illness.

He is preceded in death by his mother.

Anthony is survived by his wife; two sons, Brandon (Katelyn) and Christopher (Tania); one daughter, Brianna; three grandchildren, Kaiden, Darrian, and Jaslene; his twin brother, Arthur (Chellie) Ortiz; two sisters, Roseanna (Mike) Ortiz Haugen and Kathy Ortiz Paredes. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who loved their “Uncle Tony” dearly.

Anthony loved his Braves, Chiefs, and Jayhawks. Per his request, people in attendance please feel free to come in casual clothing, because that is how he lived.

The family would like to thank Dr. Adeimy, Dr. Ficek and her staff (especially Lindsay, Jen & Morgan), as well as all the staff with Midland Hospice, who all provided outstanding care for Anthony and his family during his illness.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Brennan Mathena Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. with rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Brennan Mathena Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow.
