Carole Ann Childers

Carole Ann Childers, 81, formerly of Topeka, died Friday, October 5, 2018 in Ft. Worth, TX.

She was born December 20, 1936 in Lacrosse, WI the daughter of Oscar and Alma (Scharff) Baum.

Carole married Phillip L. Childers, Jr. in Kansas City, MO on August 28, 1954.  He preceded her in death on July 13, 1986. 

Carole loved being a stay at home mom to her three children.  She enjoyed cooking and enjoyed food and eating even more.  Carole was a dog lover and in her later years took pleasure in the company of her dogs Dottie, Chewy and Buster.

Survivors include three children, Phillip (Carla) Childers, James (Paige) Childers and Linda Childers (Douglas “Sam” King), eight siblings, Imogene Greathouse, William Baum, Sandra Gatz, Judy Street (Michael) Jubien, Gary Baum, Linda (Todd) Clark, David (Janet) Baum and Colette Baum, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

She will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Saturday where the family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m.  with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
