Thomas Toelkes

Thomas “John” Toelkes, 51, of Topeka, passed away October 5, 2018 at a local hospital.

He was born in Topeka, Kansas on May 18, 1967 the son of Philip L. and Judith Anne (Atkinson) Toelkes.  John was a 1985 graduate of Shawnee Heights High School and went to the Kaw Valley Vo-Tech where he studied Heating and Air Conditioning.  He worked in construction and plumbing.

John enjoyed playing pool, going to music concerts, and was a loyal, Chiefs, Royals and K-State fan.

He is survived by his mother, Judy Toelkes, a brother Philip “Lee” (Kathy) Toelkes Jr., sister, Terese (Brent) Crow, and four nephews, Tyler and Dalton Toelkes and Dylan and Cole Crow.  He was predeceased by his father, Philip on April 1, 1997.

The family will receive friends at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Thursday, October 11th, from 6-7 p.m.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m.  Inurnment will be private at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
