Deanna Kay Renyer, 75, of Topeka, died September 6, 2018 at the House at Midland Care surrounded by her family.
She was born in Wichita, Kansas on October 10, 1942 the daughter of Earl Ray Lafferty and Dorothy Hill (Terry).
Deanna was a homemaker. She had also worked in the Cafeteria at the Topeka Capital-Journal and at Jeremiah’s Restaurant in downtown Topeka.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, canning, baking, watching her family in the Auto Racing sport, and going to the Casino. She is most remembered for her love of her family where she was always there to cheer on her children and grandchildren in their sports and school functions and activities.
Deanna was a member of the Topeka Auto Racing Boosters and a Fibromyalgia Support Group.
She married Robert Joseph Renyer in Topeka, Kansas on June 20, 1959. He predeceased her on May 20, 2009. Survivors include her children, Sheila Roberson of Phoenix, AZ, Randall (Kay) Renyer of Berryton, Ks, Mark Renyer of Topeka and Shawna (Scott) Mercer of Topeka, nine grandchildren; Ryan Showalter, Keith Sweet, Valerie Renyer, Matthew Renyer, Jessica Lillibridge, Kelsea Watts, Kristi Renyer, Nathan Mercer and Katie Rosas, eight great grandchildren, and her siblings, Karen Sisk of Broken Bow, OK, Barry Lafferty of Gulfport, MS, Jan Faber of Winfield, KS and Larry (Grace) Lafferty of Belton, MO. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter-in-law, Becky Renyer.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends following until noon. Private inurnment will be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date. Following her visitation all are invited to the Berryton United Methodist Church for a luncheon at 1:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Midland Hospice Care, or the Shawnee Heights Fire District, and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
