Juanita Neeley, 90, passed away August 17, 2018, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Juanita was born December 23, 1927, in Sedalia, Missouri, daughter of Francis and Bernadine Bahner. Juanita married Donald "Donnie" Neeley on May 28, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri and lived in Topeka, Kansas for 60 years before moving to John Knox Village Assisted Living in Lee's Summit, Missouri in 2015. Donnie preceded her in death February 5, 2000. She is survived by two sons: Mark (Cheryl) Independence, Missouri and Bradley (Susie) Centennial, Colorado and four grandchildren: Luke (Mindy) Independence, Missouri: Eileen, Independence, Missouri; Jordan and Ryan, Centennial, Colorado. Juanita and Donnie both worked for the City of Topeka (Housing Authority and Engineering Department Inspector, respectively) both retiring March 1, 1990. Juanita was a Community Partner Volunteer at St. Francis Hospital for 38 years earning 18,000 volunteer hours. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella #503, and a charter member of Christ the King Parish. Juanita will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Following the rosary the family will receive friends until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th Street, Topeka, Kansas. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Topeka, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Daughters of Isabella and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66603.
