Everett Lee Mullinix, 83, of Burlingame, Kansas, passed away at Rolling Hills Nursing Home.
He was born in Topeka, Kansas on November 25, 1934 the son of George and Delilah (Baker) Mullinix. “
Everett was a 1952 graduate of Overbrook Rural High School.
He moved with his parents from Overbrook to Burlingame where his parents purchased a farm in 1952. In 1954 Everett purchased an adjacent farm and has farmed it ever since. He loved farming and spending time in nature.
Everett also enjoyed hunting and woodworking. He was a member of the Kansas Building and Trades Union #1290, and a new member of Christ the King Church.
He married Thelma Mowder on September 9, 1956 in Overbrook. She survives. He is also survived by three sons, Clayton (Michelle) Mullinix of Burlingame, George Mullinix of Auburn, and David Mullinix of Burlingame, nine grandchildren, Greg Mullinix, Dawn Vandevord, Chase Mullinix, Jason Mullinix, Kimberly Swader, Kevin Mullinix, Brett Mullinix, David Cain and Amanda Burton, and 25 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth MaGranahan, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Mullinix.
Everett will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday after 2:00 p.m. where his family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 25th and Wanamaker, Topeka. Interment will follow in Topeka Cemetery.
