Philip “Phil Jr.” Cervantes Jr., 66, of Topeka, died February 23, 2108 at Stormont Vail Hospital.
He was born in Topeka, Kansas on November 12, 1951 the son of Felipe and Josephine (Gutierrez) Cervantes Sr. He was a 1969 graduate of Shawnee Heights High School.
Phil Jr. worked as the Restaurant Manager at Walgreens for many years and had recently worked as a Janitorial Supervisor for USD #501 and Richman Gordman’s.
He enjoyed collecting and building cars, NASCAR models, and sail boats. Phil Jr. also enjoyed watching wrestling and spending time with his family and friends.
Phil Jr. is survived by his longtime companion, Mary Seaver, two daughters, Melia (Theron) Woolery and Tiffany Cervantes of Topeka, and his siblings, Linda (Terry) Westover, of Kansas City, KS, Gloria Ramirez (Frank Florez), Chick (Terry) Griffith, and Mike Cervantes all of Topeka, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Josephine Cervantes Sr., and a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Larry Beasley.
A Memorial Visitation and Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home from 5:00 until 6:30 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home to assist his family and sent to 800 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66603.
