Marianne Carlson, 81, of Topeka, KS died Monday, February 19, 2018 at Aldersgate Village.
She was born May 19, 1936 in Wamego, KS the daughter of John R. Holdren and Gladys Isabell Fleiss.
Marianne married Kenneth W. Carlson in Topeka, KS. He survives. Other survivors include her son, Dale Michael and a step-daughter, Karen Emmot (Bud) both of Topeka, seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John Holdren and William Holdren, and her sister Naomi Holdren, three sons Terry Michael, Greg Michael, Tracy Michael and husband Lawrence James Michael.
Marianne worked most of her life helping others including education, the grocery industry and food service. She was an avid sports fan with a deep love for her KU Jayhawks, a member of the Red Hat Society and active in many support groups. Admired for her divine strength and loved by all for her tremendous sense of humor, she was a spirited lady who loved to laugh, enjoyed live music and dancing, traveling, cooking and above all else cherished her family and friends.
Marianne was cremated and private services will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charity in her honor.
