Cynthia Marie (Sands) Berry

She was born July 16, 1959 in Tulsa, OK the daughter of Robert and Helen (Meyer) Sands.

Cindy was working at St. Francis Hospital as a Unit Secretary where she has been employed since 1997.

She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

Cindy married Michael Berry on December 2, 1978 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include four children, Kristin (Kyle) Steenson of Bellevue, NE, Karyn (Adam) Shay of Paola, Ryan Berry of Lenexa, Shannon (Ashton) Rucker of Topeka, her parents, Lonnie and Helen Sands of Meriden, five siblings, Mike (Erica) Sands of Ozawkie, Craig Sands of Kansas City, MO, Steve (Claudette) Sands, Todd Sands and Stacia (Jon) Pfau, all of Ozawkie. Five grandchildren, Brennan Steenson, Faith Shay, Anna Shay, Farah Shay, William Rucker and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11th at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 615 E. Wyandotte St, Meriden. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
