Julia Lee Whitener, 100, of Topeka, KS died Saturday, December 23, 2017.
She was born January 7, 1917 in Riverbend Township, NC the daughter of Joel and Cora (Hendrix) Fisher.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Raydus A. Whitener and a daughter-in-law, Shirley (Michael) Whitener. Survivors include two sons, Ray Whitener, Jr. of Topeka, Harry (Peggy) Whitener of Meriden, seven grandchildren, Karen Snell, Kelli Whitener-Bodenheimer, Jason Whitener, Michael Whitener, Diane Johnston, Heather Hoar, and Ryan Whitener. Fourteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive.
Cremation has taking place. Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Waverly, KS.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to Rolling Hills Skilled Living Activities Fund sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
