Dana Joy Wright

Dana Joy Wright, 59, of Meriden, KS died November 28, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, MO. She was born February 16, 1958 in Salina, KS the daughter of Marvin and Twila (Lind) Zeigler. Dana graduated from University of Kansas receiving a Bachelor’s of Science and earned her Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Wichita State University. She was a Speech Pathologist for USD #501. Dana was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and ASHA, (American Speech & Hearing Association). She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, antiquing, researching genealogy and was known as the “safety mom”. Dana married Jerel L. Wright on August 14, 1988. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Halsey M. Wright of Chanute, KS, Marissa L. Wright and Haydn W. Wright both of Meriden. Two sisters, Denise (Ken) Bisel of Stilwell, KS, Delinda (Ron) Bahm of Meriden, along with nieces and nephews, Taylor, Myranda, Justin, Brittney, Brandon also survive. Dana will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Meriden. Entombment will take place at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery in the Holy Trinity Mausoleum.
