Margaret M. (Shoemaker) Kaberline, 84, of Topeka, KS died Monday, November 6, 2017 at the House at Midland Care. She lived her entire life in Topeka.
She enjoyed being with her family, puzzles, games, piano and following KU basketball. She worked at Eakes Grocery and Hallmark Cards in Topeka prior to becoming a wonderful wife and mother to her family.
Margaret is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Edward J. Kaberline. They were married on September 24, 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka. Survivors also include her sons, Michael (Bill Wade) of St. Louis, MO; James (Lori Solander) of Topeka; Brian (Traci) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Eric (the late Kirk Richardson) of Topeka, along with grandchildren James Kaberline, Kyle Kaberline (Tara), Ashleigh Grumke (Andrew), Jennifer Kaberline, and Kenneth Kaberline, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents William and Mamie (Emerson) Shoemaker, her sisters and brothers, son (Edward, Jr.) and son-in-law, Kirk Richardson.
A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2700 SE Virginia, Topeka, Kansas. Following the rosary the family will receive friends until 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday at the Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Margaret’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Midland Care Hospice in Topeka for their kindness and loving care. Memorial donations may be made in Margaret’s name to The House at Midland Care, 120 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 or the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
