Michele James

Michele Marie James, 61, of Topeka, KS died September 28, 2017 at her home.

She was born August 5, 1956 in Topeka, the daughter of Francis and Mary (Best) Hutley.

Michele retired from the Kansas Department of Revenue. She enjoyed Turner Classic movies and playing hidden object games on her computer.

Michelle was married to Patrick L. Fruits. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Michelle is survived by three siblings, Sherry Hutley, Janet (John) Adame, and Stanley F. Hutley, a niece, Melanie (Bryan) Fitzpatrick and a nephew, Shannon Adame along with five great nieces and nephews, Brandon Barnette, Trey Barnette, Sydney Adame, Trenton Adkins, and Kiera Fitzpatrick.

She will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Westlawn Cemetery located at I-70 and Auburn Road.
