Edward B. "Ed" Krische

September 19, 1919 — August 19, 2017

Edward B. Krische, 97, of Topeka, died August 19, 2017 at the St. Patricks Residence Center in Naperville, Illinois.

He was born in Kansas City, Kansas on September 19, 1919 the son of Frank P. and Theresa (Moritz) Krische. 

He served his country in the Air Corps from 1944 to 1946 and was a member of American Legion Post #400.

Ed was a Letter Carrier for the Topeka Post Office until his retirement.  He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carrier’s Local Union #10. 

He was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Nocturnal Adoration Society, and Knights of Columbus Council #2608.

Ed married Lucile Meier in Topeka, Kansas on October 8, 1946.  She preceded him in death on November 1, 2011.   He was also predeceased by a son Edward B. Krische Jr. in 1966, five brothers: Frank A. Krische, Joseph Krische, Rev. Otto Krische, Victor Krische, and George Robert Krische, four sisters:  Marie Meier, Eleanor Kreipe, Helen Allendorf, and Dorothy Evans.  Ed is survived by his daughter, Carlotta (John) Noonan of Naperville, IL, a brother Bernard Krische of Washington State, two grandchildren; Elizabeth (Scott) Hall of River Forest, Il and Keith Noonan of Plano, TX, two great grandchildren:  Grant and Evelyn Hall.

Ed will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 4 - 7 p.m. The rosaries will be prayed by the Knights of Columbus Council #2608 at 5:30 p.m.  and the Parish at 6:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Franciscan Friars, St. Joseph Restoration Fund, or Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration; sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
