William F. “Bill” Padgett, 90, of Topeka, KS died Saturday, August 05, 2017 at Atria Hearthstone Assisted Living. He was born April 9, 1927 in Topeka, the son of Emmett and Dovie (Wiseman) Padgett. In 1945 Bill enlisted in the Navy serving during WW II. He was employed by AT & SF Railroad for over 40 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and 3rd Order of St. Francis. Bill married Mary Ann Domme on September 4, 1950 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2013. He is survived by five daughters, Mary Beth (Randy) Lyden of Topeka, Debbie (Gary, deceased) Tompkins, of Topeka, Angie (Rick) Essman of Grantville, Margie (Ron) Flax of Topeka, Jeanie (Dave) Gunn of Berryton, along with 13 Grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, C.A. Padgett. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment with military honors will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
