Reverend Perry V. Hensley

May 25, 1931 — July 16, 2017

Reverend Perry Virgil Hensley, 86, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 16, 2017.  Perry had long battled Alzheimer’s, and was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary and son David.  He is survived by four children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Perry was born May 25, 1931 in Delaware County, Indiana to Clifford and Marjorie (Wills) Hensley.  He married Mary on September 4, 1953.  Perry was a pastor and a teacher at heart.  He frequently offered counsel or recommended scriptures and resources.  We will miss his humility and wisdom, but celebrate that he is at peace with the creator.

A visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22 at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.  Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Contributions in his memory may be made to Anderson University School of Theology or Ascend Hospice, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.  For online condolences and fond memories, please go to www.brennanmathenafh.com.
