Steven R. Brown, 63, of Olathe, Kansas died June 3, 2017 at the House at Midland Care in Topeka.
He was born on August 24, 1953 in Topeka, the son of Raymond L. and Elizabeth M. (Fauerbach) Brown. He grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and spent his adulthood in Olathe.
Steven graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School, Johnson County Community College, Pittsburg State University (BS in Business Administration) and Rockhurst College (MBA). He later received advanced training in computer programming and software engineering.
He was employed at Intertec Publishing, Holland Nameplate & Engraving and WageWorks, Inc. He ended his career working as a Test Automation Engineer, Advanced for Jack Henry & Associates.
Steve enjoyed fishing, water skiing, racket sports, photography and traveling. In his youth he was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi.
He is survived by his sister, Jolene (Jim) Garcia of Topeka, KS and two of his favorite cats, Cali and Tuck.
Steve will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and a Parish Prayer Service will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Topeka, KS. Interment Services will be held at the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel in Lenexa on Saturday at 12:00 noon.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Midland Hospice Care or the Cat Association of Topeka and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
