Dennis E. Wilcox, 71, of Silver Lake, KS, died unexpectedly May 2, 2017, at home.
He was born April 10, 1946, in Plymouth, WI, the son of Robert and Marie (Mayer) Wilcox.
Dennis served in the US Army in Germany during the Vietnam conflict. He worked at Adams Business Forms retiring after 39 years.
Dennis was an Elder of Community Church of Topeka where he was very active in Sr. Saints, Men’s Ministry, Sunday school and helped with maintenance around the church.
He married Frances Halloran on October 3, 1970, in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two children, Jenelle (Willem) Van Norel of Kansas City, MO, Jared E. Wilcox of Topeka; two sisters, Linda (Van) Vanlandingham, Becky (David) Berlier, and a grandson.
Dennis will lie in state after 2:00 pm Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday at Community Church of Topeka, 1819 SW 21st St. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions may be made to Community Church of Topeka sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
