Donald Wabskie, Jr.

Donald “Junie” Wabskie, Jr., 61, of Topeka, died March 20, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital.

He was born in Topeka, Kansas on August 12, 1955 the son of Donald and Marjorie (Shopteese) Wabskie.

Donald was a graduate of Kaw Area Vocational Technical School and worked for the Prairie Band Casino.  He was a tribal member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Indian Nation.  He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and had a love for The Beatles.

He is survived by his siblings:  Ray Lee Wabskie of Topeka, Gary (Sabrina) Wabskie of Mayetta, Donna (Francisco) Vega of Topeka, Carol LaMonte of Russell, Diane Arnold of Russell and was preceded in death by a sister, Luella Ann Wabskie on November 16, 2016 and his parents, Donald Wabskie on April 25, 2003 and Marjorie Wabskie on November 30, 2005.

Donald will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Shipshee Cemetery on the reservation.
