Nellie Marie Bradley

Nellie M. Bradley, 86, of Topeka, KS passed January 20, 2017 at the House at Midland Care. She was born December 2, 1930 in Harveyville, KS the daughter of Francis and Olive (Francis) Milbradt. Nellie graduated from Scranton High School and was a 1951 graduate of the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at various locations for over 20 years. Nellie married Richard W. Ward, Jr. on March 24, 1951, he preceded her in death. She was remarried to Charles J. Spicka, Jr, February 2, 1953, they later divorced. On January 18, 1972 she was united in marriage to Lawrence L. Bradley, he also preceded her in death. She is survived by four children, Charlene M. (Dennis) Seiter of Marquand, MO, Patricia A. (John Aureli) Sandmeyer, James Kent (Carolyn) Spicka and Laurie S. (Shannon) McCollum all of Topeka. Other survivors include her siblings, Verna Lee Kittelman, Laura Jean “Poppy” Cogburn, Linda Rae Butler and Jerry Milbradt. Six grandchildren, Stacey Merx, Theresa Miller, Angela Loy, Joshua Seiter, Daniel Spicka, Shane McCollum and nine great-grandchildren also survive. She was also preceded in death by two siblings, Irene Long and Frank Eugene “Jim” Milbradt. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Saturday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where funeral services will begin at 4:00 pm. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Midland Care Hospice or Topeka Rescue Mission sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
