Sharon Pechin

Sharon Pechin, 75, of Topeka, died December 29, 2016 at her home.  She was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on March 26, 1941 the daughter of Carroll F. and Helen (O’Laughlin) Zimmerman.  Sharon was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Sharon loved camping and baking and won several ribbons at the State Fair for her baked goods.  She married Gordon “Greg” Pechin in Hutchinson, Kansas on May 29, 1969.  He survives.  Sharon is also survived by three children, Dennis (Gail) Murphy of Crystal Springs, Ks., Kelly (Tyger) Murphy of Albuquerque, NM., and Stephanie (Matt) Griffin of Topeka, four grandchildren, Dustin, Jessie, Garrett and Connor, and two sisters Lonna and Lila.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gregory and Carl and two sisters, Dawn and Joan.  Sharon will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. followed by the family receiving friends until 8:00 p.m.  Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Rochester Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66603.
