Jesse Villegas, 66, of Topeka, died November 19, 2016 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born September 21, 1950 in Topeka, the son of Guadalupe and Maria de la Cruz (Reynoso) Villegas. Jesse was a forklift driver at Adams Business Forms for 30 years prior to becoming a transporter at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was an avid fan of the Oakland Raiders and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved serving his family and others as the neighborhood handyman fixing things that needed repair. Jesse was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and volunteered at the Fiesta Mexicana cooking tamales every year. Jesse married Angela Barranco on June 13, 1970. She survives. He is also survived by his four children; Jennifer Villegas-Foy (Clifton), of Topeka, Jesse S. (Lora) Villegas, of Rio Rancho, NM, Greg Villegas, of Topeka, and Amie (George) Alvarado, of San Antonio, TX, and eight grand-children, Trey, Carmelo, Dorothea, Alicia, Anthony, Adrian, Antonio, and Natalia. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Leopoldo and Domingo Villegas. Jesse was cremated. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Private inurnment will follow at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Holy Family Catholic School or the Stormont-Vail Cancer Center sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
