James “David” Logan, Liberty Oil Company, 75, of Topeka, Kansas, died October 28, 2016 at his home. He was born on October 15, 1941 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of Isabelle (Blacklock) Logan and Rufus Limpp. David graduated in 1960 from King City High School in King City, Missouri and attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. David was the owner of Liberty Oil Company, since 1965. He was a devoted husband, father and papa. David was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and found peace and serenity in his deep devotion to his Catholic faith. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren who were the gems of his life. David had a huge heart doing anything for anybody. He married Jeanette Martha Ann Razook on June 13, 1964 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in St. Joseph, Missouri. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2015. David is survived by daughters, Gloria Geither of Shawnee, Kansas and her children, Machaela, Gabrielle, Caroline, Joshua, Olivia and Joseph; Michelle (Monty) Todd of Skiatook, Oklahoma and her children Zachary, Cambrie and Brynlee; Jennifer McDonald of Lincoln, Nebraska and her children Logan and Trevor; and Stacie Hamm of Shawnee, Kansas and her children, Isabella and Nicholas. Two sisters, Jean Freed of Okoboji, Iowa and Mary Jane Bradley of Liberty, Missouri also survive. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 9:00 – 10:30 AM, Wednesday, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2700 SE Virginia Ave., Topeka, Kansas. Parish Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, in St. Joseph, Missouri.
