James Louis Gastineau

James Louis Gastineau, 81, of Topeka, KS passed away September 27, 2016 at his home.  He was born in Charleston, WV on December 17, 1934, the son of Lucian and Pauline (Wiggins) Gastineau.  James graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School, Charleston.  He retired from Santa Fe Railroad.  James was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He was an avid collector and a history buff.  James married Mary Jeffery on December 25, 1967, she survives.  He is also survived by his children, James, Robert and Diane Gastineau, grandchildren, Derek, Abegail, Jacob and Evan.  A visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 1:30 pm on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Leavenworth National Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice sent to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6^th Avenue, Topeka, KS   66603.
