Teddy Ray Burgess

Teddy Ray Burgess, 48, of Topeka, died August 24, 2016 at his home.

He was born in Topeka, Kansas on November 16, 1967 the son of James Harold and Hazel May (Parks) Burgess.

He studied Electronics at the Topeka Technical Institute.  Teddy worked for the State of Kansas for over 30 years and was a Building Systems Technician.

He was a collector and hobbyist and loved his cats.

Teddy is survived by two brothers, Rocky Dee (Jamie) Burgess, and Terry Lee (Cheryl) Burgess, two sisters Linda Kay Atkinson and Joyce Jay Burgess all of Topeka.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Susan May Burgess.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Teddy will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends.  A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m.  Cremation will take place after his services. 

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the CAT Association and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas  66603.
