David M. Hernandez

David M. Hernandez, 56, of Topeka, died July 15, 2016 at The House at Midland Care.

He was born on January 18, 1960, the son of Henry G. and Augustina (Martinez) Hernandez.

David enjoyed watching movies, reading and walking.

He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and was a 1978 graduate of Topeka High School.

Survivors include his mother, Augustina Hernandez of Topeka.  Other survivors include three siblings, Delores M. Arredondo (Manuel), Aleck M. Hernandez (Patty) and Virginia Ferrero (Manuel), all of Topeka.  David was preceded in death, by his father, Henry G. Hernandez on February 14, 2013.

David will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Wednesday after 3:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. and where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made in David’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Midland Hospice Care, Inc. or to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue Topeka, Kansas  66603.
