Agnes L. Stumbaugh, 94, of Topeka, died July 14, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.
She was born in Valley Falls, Kansas on January 18, 1922 the daughter of Bernard H. and Maude Ellen (Miller) Truhe.
Agnes was a homemaker. Prior to her marriage she had worked for the phone company.
She was a member of the Catholic faith and enjoyed doing genealogy.
Agnes married Ralph Walter Stumbaugh Jr. in McLouth, Kansas on February 12, 1949. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1999 and a son, Gaylen Stumbaugh, predeceased her on January 11, 2008. Survivors include her children, Ralph Stumbaugh III (Bonnie) of Topeka, Mark “Tony” Stumbaugh (Linda) of Tecumseh, and Lisa Benteman (Jim) of Bison, Ks., five grandchildren, Wendy (Brim Thompson) Feider, Ralph Stumbaugh IV, James Stumbaugh, Shannon (Travis) DeVader and Jason Lines, five great grandchildren, Brandi Spencer-Androes, Logan Stumbaugh, Emma, Ethan and Elise DeVader, and a brother Vernon Truhe (Joen) of Garnett, Ks.
Agnes will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Valley Falls, Kansas.
