John Kenneth Reed

The Lord has taken John Kenneth Reed on July 7th, 2016 to be with him in Heaven.   Kenneth died of natural causes in his sleep at the age of 75.

He was born on January 5, 1941 in Topeka, Kansas the son of John and Eula Mae (Watson) Reed.  Kenneth lived with his grandparents Jim and Mary Reed of Burlingame, Kansas and attended Burlingame grade school.  He moved to Topeka and attended Highland Park High School. 

Kenneth worked in the family gas station business at Village Green Conoco. 

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising livestock.  Kenneth loved being in the country, country music and all animals. 

He was preceded in death by his father, John, his mother Eula Mae, and his step-mother Aileen and a sister, Rose Marie Perry. 

Survivors include five brothers; Floyd (Linda) Reed of Burlingame, Gerald Reed, Bill Reed, Bob (Libby) Reed and Jim (Shelly) Reed all of Topeka, two sisters, Shirley Wright of Meriden and Jo Ann (Lowell) Seymore of Topeka.

Kenneth will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday, July 17th, where his family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m.  Graveside Services will be held on Monday, July 18th, at 9:30 a.m. at West Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, west of Topeka.
