Betty Lou Ingenthron, 90, of Topeka, died May 7, 2016 at McCrite Plaza Health Care Center.
She was born in Tecumseh, Kansas on April 22, 1926, the daughter of Benjamin and Irma (Engelke) Pressgrove.
Betty enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and fishing. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society. Betty worked for the City of Topeka, retiring from the City Clerk’s office.
Betty married Harold Ingenthron on June 1, 1950 at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2007.
Surviving include her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Dennis and Valerie Ingenthron, both of Topeka. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother Lewis Pressgrove and a sister Kathleen Pressgrove.
Betty will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where an Altar Society rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. followed by the parish rosary at 6:00 p.m. The family will greet friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Big Springs, Kansas.
