Martina P. Willie, 92, of Topeka, died May 3, 2016 at McCrite Plaza Nursing Home. She was born in St. Marys, Kansas on September 19, 1923 the daughter of Martin and Catherine (Brennan) Leonard. Martina worked for the Sears & Roebuck Company for 20 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Mater Dei Holy Name Parish and the rosary circle at the church, and the Sears Retirees Club. Martina married Philip Willie at Holy Name Catholic Church on December 27, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2003. She is survived by a son, Michael (Marcia R.) Willie of Topeka, and a daughter, Patricia Willie of Topeka, a sister Imogene Colwell of El Cajon, CA, three grandchildren, Kristie Willie, Beth Ann Willie and Megan Sams and three great grandchildren, Ethan, Shawn and Hannah Sams. Martina will lie in state at Mater Dei Holy Name Church on Saturday after 9:00 a.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Mater Dei Holy Name Parish and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
