Robert C. Page, 62, of Topeka, died March 13, 2016 at The House at Midland Care.
He was born in Wichita, Kansas on June 7, 1953, the son of Clyde and Maurine (Krisle) Page.
Bob received his Associate of Arts Degree from Washburn University. He worked as a Signal Engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad for 19 years. He co-owned and operated Railroad Signal Design Inc. since 1989 doing contract signal engineering for Class 1 Railroads.
Bob started working for the Santa Fe Railroad at age 18. He became a signalman and worked in Kansas and Oklahoma until becoming a Signal Maintainer and continued working in the Augusta, Kansas territory. In 1981, he transferred to the Engineering Office in Topeka to work as a Signal Circuit Designer. In 1991, he left the Santa Fe Railroad to join two partners doing contract signal engineering for Class 1 Railroads.
He enjoyed attending car shows, NHRA Drag Racing, watching Kansas City Royals and KU Basketball, and was a Youth Sports Enthusiast. He always loved supporting his grandchildren by attending their sporting events.
Bob was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #8411 after joining the catholic church at Easter in 1989.
He married Nancy J. Cummings on September 28, 1974 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wichita. She survives.
Also surviving are his children: Heather (Chris) Enos , Stacey (James) Sandstrom all of Topeka , and Carie (Scott) Campbell of Meriden, a sister, Marsha Brent of Wichita, six grandchildren, Sean, Michael, and Lauren Sandstrom, Connor Enos, Ian and Jaxon Campbell.
Bob will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19th, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
