Sherlene Marie Becerra

Sherlene Marie Becerra, 78, of Topeka, Kansas, died December 17, 2015. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 7, 1937 the daughter of John Albert and Mary Ann Rinker. Sherlene worked as a clerk for Medical Records at Cotton O’Neil for 16 years. She enjoyed board games, knitting, spending time with family especially her grandchildren and attending shrine functions. Sherlene married Albert John Becerra Sr. in Kansas City, Missouri on January 7, 1955. He survives.  Other survivors include her daughter, Denise Becerra, her son, Albert (Cathy) Becerra Jr., grandchildren, Paul Wagner, Nathan (Amber) Becerra, Alicia (Naz) Roseberry, Nolan Becerra, John Albert Becerra, Cacey (Landon) Blackburn, Camille Becerra, and Charisse (Jeremy) Crawford and 12 great-grandchildren. Sherlene will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Sharing of Memories at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital Dads and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas  66603.
