William "Bill" Rhoads

William “Bill” Rhoads, 81, of Topeka, KS died Friday, December 11, 2015 at his home. Bill was born April 18, 1934 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Arthur and Katherine (Jones) Rhoads. He served in the US Air Force entering active duty on November 18, 1953 and being honorably discharged after 20 years of service to his country on November 30, 1973. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed looking for pocket knives or other items of his interest at garage sales. He married June Sewell on October 30, 1998 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2009. Bill is survived by his children, Jill Rhoads of Sacramento, CA, Roxann Munoz Florez, Larissa Munoz, and Angela Jacobs all of Topeka.  Two brothers, Richard Rhoads of Emporia, John Rhoads of Topeka, fourteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren also survive.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son Daniel Rhoads, six siblings, Anna Mae Rhoads, Rosie Gavin, Robert Rhoads, Raymond Rhoads, Wayne Rhoads, and Fred Rhoads. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Michael Cox along with the staff of Grace Hospice for all of their wonderful care and support. Bill was cremated.
