Jim P. Heim, 63, of Topeka, died unexpectedly on December 6, 2015. He was born on October 9, 1952 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Harold and Agnes (Pashman) Heim. Jim was a lifelong resident. He attended Washburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Throughout his career, he was a salesman at Sears, a tradesman for A.H. Pashman Construction and worked as a Count Specialist for the Prairie Band Casino. Jim was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and participated for several years in the church music group. He loved to run and be outdoors. He was a fan of all sports especially KU Basketball, all state college teams and the KC Royals and the Chiefs. The family encourages everyone to wear their favorite team attire to the visitation. He married Jennie Tetuan on May 27, 1978 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Erin of Tampa, Florida and Lauren of the home, his uncle Max Baker of Topeka, nine nephews, four nieces, nine great nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Agnes Heim and his grandparents. Jim will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Parish Rosaries will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 12:00 noon at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
