Brett Porting, 24, of Topeka, died December 4, 2015 at Olathe Medical Center. He was born on March 26, 1991, in Parsons, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Toni (Barney) Porting. Brett graduated from Seaman High School in 2010. He enjoyed listening to country music, watching movies, swimming, bowling and playing basketball. Survivors include his parents, Toni Porting of Lenexa, Kansas, father, Joseph Porting of Axtell, Kansas, a sister, Peyton Porting of Topeka, maternal grandparents, Patricia Pepper of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Dwight (Rosalyn) Barney of Winfield, Kansas, and his paternal grandmother, JoAnn Porting of Axtell, Kansas. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles, Trisha (David) Kocour of Olathe, Kansas, Jessica (Greg) Pepper of Aguilar, Colorado, Jeff (Kris) Porting, of Axtell, Kansas, Judy (Dan) Dowell of Sterling, Kansas, Jeanne (Randy) Eisenbarth of Hutchinson, Kansas, Janet (Bryan) Schmitz of Seneca, Kansas, and Jeanette (Jesse) Eisenbarth of Onaga, Kansas. Brett was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Porting. Brett will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday, December 7th after 2:00 p.m., where a parish rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 8th, at 10:00 a.m. at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church.
