Marvin Eugene Johnson, 85, of Topeka, died November 6, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Blue Rapids, Kansas on April 19, 1930 the son of Albert B. and Viola (Joseph) Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army from January 31, 1951 to January 16, 1954. He was retired from the State of Kansas and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1650. Marvin enjoyed woodworking, fixing things, family and yardwork. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. He married Deloris Ann Cleary in Marysville, Kansas on February 10, 1962. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2011. Survivors include his children, Debra J. (Ronald) Watson of Tomah, Wisconsin, Dennis O. (Laurie) Johnson of Silver Lake, Kansas, and Lori A. Medicinehorse of Topeka, grandchildren, Julie (Bob) Lane, Heath Johnson, Rick (Jennifer) Horton, Jason Parker, Matthew Parker, Chelsea Medicinehorse, Shanna Medicinehorse, Kaylee Mildfeldt and 10 great grandchildren. Marvin will lie in state after 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 9th at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends until 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #421. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11th at Memorial Park Cemetery.
