Juanita Marian Weiss, 97, of Topeka, died October 12, 2015 at Clare Bridge. She was born in Unedus, Louisiana on August 6, 1918 the daughter of Neville and Elizabeth (Corey) Zuck. Juanita was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, reading mysteries, and berry and vegetable gardening. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Juanita married Francis Ernest William Weiss in Ft. Dodge, Iowa on June 14, 1937. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2014. She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Rickert (Mike Oliver) of Topeka, two grandchildren, Heather (Derek) Meinholdt and Adrian Rickert and two great grandchildren, Emma and Luke Meinholdt, one sister, Ramona Douglas and a brother, Donald Zuck. She was also predeceased by a son in infancy, and her siblings, Will Zuck, Calvin Zuck, Wilma Zuck, Delores Ohlweiler, Dorothy Peterson, Paul Zuck, and Helen Welch. She will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. She will lie in state at St. John's Lutheran Church for an hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. Graveside Services will be in the North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Music Department at St. John's Lutheran Church or Midland Hospice Care Inc. and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
