Lupe (Llamas) Vega, 57, of Topeka, KS, died September 21, 2015. She was born April 7, 1958 in Topeka, the daughter of David and Esperanza (Ortiz) Llamas. Lupe was a homemaker and worked tirelessly for her church for 27 years and spent 15 years as a secretary for the Salvation Army before failing health. She was a member of Jerusalem A/D and enjoyed dogs, playing games, sewing, traveling, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was a dear mother, wonderful grandmother, beloved sister and Pastor's wife. Lupe married Eliseo Vega on October 18, 1974 in Topeka. He survives. She gave birth to two daughters, Lydia Vega of Topeka and Laura Vega Escobar who preceded her in death on April 2, 2012. She received the blessing of six grandchildren, Lupe E. Vega, Esteban Vega, Lissy Luna, Emily Luna, David Escobar and Leticia Duque. Three sisters, Lola (Nick) Davenport, Linda (Kevin) Coffman, Lisa (Joseph) Flores, and three brothers, David, Daniel and Douglas Llamas all of Topeka, also survive. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and her church family. Lupe will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the First Assembly of God Church, 500 SW 27th.
