John M. Tetuan, 74, of Topeka, died August 18, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on May 12, 1941 the son of Bicente G. and Concepcion (Monasterio) Tetuan. John attended State Street Elementary, Holiday Junior High and graduated from Topeka High School He worked for the State of Kansas in the Division of the Highway Patrol. John was part owner of the Lucky Five Restaurant. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. John was a member of the church choir and played in several bands, The Clefs, The Nocturnes and played the Guitarrn in the Mariachi's of Topeka. Survivors include a daughter, Antonette (Michael) Hubble and a son Juan F. (Schelli) Tetuan, two sisters, Augustina Tetuan and Genevieve (Modesto) Vasquez all of Topeka, five grandchildren, Brandon, Marisa, Amy, Sandra, Mikayla and a great granddaughter, Alaina. He was preceded in death by nine siblings. John will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A parish rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
