Fred J. Nackley Jr., 76, of Topeka, died August 15, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born in Utica, New York on September 14, 1938, the son of Frederick Sr. and Mary (Hiffa) Nackley. After high school, Fred joined the Air Force and was stationed at Forbes Air Base where he met his wife Jacqueline D. Roberts. They were married in Utica, New York on June 21, 1958. Upon his retirement from private club management, he then became a pit boss for Harrah's Prairie Band Casino. Fred enjoyed golfing with friends and swimming with his buddies at the YMCA. He is survived by his wife Jackie, his children, Dan Nackley (Amy) of Basehor, Kansas, Shelly Nackley, Sheri Torgerson, Mary Horman, all of Topeka and Fred Nackley of Illinois, his siblings, Joe Nassimos (wife Dee, deceased), John Nassimos (wife Ann, deceased) , Edward Nassimos (Carmella), Violet (Reverend George Yani), Patty Nassimos, Selma Smith (Harry), six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Fred was cremated. A memorial visitation will be held at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday, September 14, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date in New York.
