George E. Landon Jr.

George E. Landon Jr., 65, of Topeka, died July 31, 2015 at the Bonner Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on February 5, 1950 the son of George and Elizabeth (Hursh) Landon. George was a graduate of Topeka West High School and received his Master's Degree from Washburn University in Business Administration. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, golfing, watching all sports and especially spoiling his granddaughters. George married Linda Finan at Holy Name Catholic Church on September 21, 1973. They later divorced. He is survived by their children Shawn (Colleen) Landon of Overland Park, Ks., and Erin (Sean) O'Brien of Ft. Myers, FL., and two granddaughters, Averie and Ashlynn Landon. George will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Graveside inurnment will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Holton Cemetery.
