Roberto Augustine Ramirez

Roberto Augustine "Robert" Ramirez, 63, of Topeka, died July 19, 2015 at Lexington Park Nursing Home. Robert was born on November 28, 1951, in Topeka, the son of Augustine and Jessie (Gonzales) Ramirez. He worked for the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Maintenance. Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Robert enjoyed watching wrestling on TV, rose gardening, playing putt-putt golf and was an avid K-State fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, nieces and nephews. He married Cheryl Howell in Topeka on July 9, 1983. They shared 32 years of marriage and she survives. He is also survived by his mother Jessie Ramirez of Topeka, two daughters, Veronica (Trevor) Robinson of KC, MO, and Kristy Ramirez of Topeka, three sisters, Katherine Saenz of Bellevue, NE, Rosemary Lara and Marti Gonzales both of Topeka, and a granddaughter, Arianna Robinson of KC, MO. He was preceded in death by his father, Augustine Ramirez. Robert will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will greet friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. A parish rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions be given to Fresenius Dialysis Center or Sacred Heart/St. Joseph Parish and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 S.W. 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66603.
