Rojelio "Roger" Zarazua, 60, formerly of Topeka died June 15, 2015 in Moorhead, Minnesota. He was born on June 20, 1954, in Topeka, the first child born to the late Ignacio and Celia (Morales) Zarazua, he was a 1972 graduate of Topeka High School. He later served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for several years, retiring in 2012. He married Diana Ridgeway on August 19, 1983, together they raised their children for eighteen years. Roger was a great athlete and well known throughout the region. He was a proud member of the Aces baseball team and Our Lady of Guadalupe fastpitch softball team. He also served as a certified referee in boxing. After retiring, he worked part-time at the YMCA in downtown Topeka. Roger loved all sports, especially baseball and watching his son play. Roger loved and enjoyed coaching youth baseball. He enjoyed fishing, cooking Mexican food, especially tortillas, sharing stories and debating over the best sports teams. He had a huge heart and great love for his family and friends. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. His great sense of humor showed through the many nicknames and catch phrases he shared with his loved ones. He was a proud KU, Raider, Dodger, Lakers and Yankee fan. He also loved listening to music and we loved hearing him sing. Roger was loved by many and will be missed by all. Survivors include his son, Brian Zarazua Sr (Ruth) of Moorhead, Minnesota, two daughters, Joyce Eddington (Alan) of Wichita, Kansas, Kimberley Burge of Topeka. His siblings; John Zarazua, Diana Zarazua (Dale Pennington), Elizabeth McCune (Joe) all of Topeka, Cynthia Zarazua (Paul Cebar) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Frank Zarazua (Laurie) of Fayetteville, Georgia, Richard Zarazua (Paula) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Tino Zarazua Sr (Claudia) of Rancho Belago, California, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and both paternal and maternal grandparents. Roger will lie in state from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the funeral.
