Jim "Coyote" Ward

Jim "Coyote" Ward, 53, of Topeka, died June 12th at his home. He was born in Atchison, Kansas on October 3, 1961, the son of Fred and Louise (Bennett) Ward. Jim was a 1982 graduate of Topeka High School and was an avid motorcyclist. He previously worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas as a computer operator. He married Catherine "Cathy" Strathman on November 18, 2000 at the Governor's Row House in Topeka. She preceded him in death on May 17, 2011. Jim was also preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by numerous in-laws and friends. Jim was cremated. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Memorial service will begin at 10:00 A.M. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to American Cancer Society Relay for Life and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
