Theodore Anthony "Ted" Creel, 92, of Topeka, died May 4, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on October 8, 1922 the son of Theodore and Kate (Ellis) Creel Sr. Ted was raised in Biloxi, Mississippi and worked with his father on a shrimping boat. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II stationed in Guam for a year and was the recipient of the Bronze Star. Ted moved to Kansas and worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 36 years, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, going to the casino, and KU Basketball. Ted married Mary Bahm at St. Matthew Catholic Church on October 17, 1975. She survives. He is also survived by five children, Diane Bahm of Topeka, Cheri (Bob) Wager of Topeka, Robert Bahm of Topeka, Kathleen (Alan) Schnacker of Auburn, Ronald (Delinda) Bahm of Meriden, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a brother, Larry Creel of Biloxi, MS. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorthea Creel a daughter, Dee Anna Creel, his brothers, Elwood, Norman and a sister, Lurlene. Ted will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a Parish Rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
