Michael Guerrero, 83, of Topeka, died April 23, 2015 at The House at Midland Care. He was born on September 21, 1931, the son of Thomas and Consuelo (Adame) Guerrero. Michael graduated from Topeka High School in 1950. He worked for the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad as a freight carman for over 30 years, retiring in 1991. He married Valentina Romero on May 4, 1957 in Lawrence, Kansas. She survives. He enjoyed music, working on cars, working with wood, traveling, coaching baseball, and was an avid Kansas Jayhawk Fan. He is also survived by his children: Renee (Duane) Aragon of Littleton, Colorado, Danielle (Chris) Gomez and Eric Guerrero, both of Overland Park, Kansas, two sisters, Nora Dominguez of Topeka and Trini Arzate of Emporia, two brothers, Steve Dominguez of Topeka and John Dominguez of Overland Park, and seven grandchildren, Christopher, Phillip, Kristen (Brady), Peter, Nicholas, Michael and William. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Pete Dominguez. Michael will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family requests that attendees wear Jayhawk attire or colors for the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Matthew Catholic Church or to Midland Hospice, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66603.
