Agnes Clifton, 93, of Topeka, KS died April 17, 2015 at Homestead Assisted Living. She was born on July 21, 1921 in Plattsburg, MO. Agnes attended Sarachon-Hooley Business College in Kansas City, MO. Before her marriage, she was a secretary to the Business Manager of the Department of Health and later the secretary to the Assistant Director of Finance both in Kansas City, MO. She married Clyde Clifton on October 8, 1949 at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Kansas City. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2001. Agnes was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She is survived by three sons and their spouses, Steve and Deanna Clifton of Topeka, Gary and Ashley Clifton of Wichita, Mark and Travis Clifton of Evanston, IL, a daughter and her spouse, Ann and Byron Miller of Lawrence. Six Grandchildren, Dr. Courtney Clifton of Champaign, IL, Brett Clifton of Savoy, IL, Suzanne Dixon and her husband Mike, Kyle Clifton all of Dallas, TX, Jeff Miller of Lawrence and Mallen Clifton of Evanston, IL along with four great-grandchildren, Connor, Parker and Ella Clifton of Savoy, IL and Jackson Clifton of Dallas, TX. Agnes will lie in state after 6:00 P.M. Sunday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church where the family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
