Belva Louise (Erdman) Peters Bartlett, 91, of Topeka, died April 15, 2015 at Homestead of Topeka. She was born in Smith Center, Kansas on August 27, 1923 the daughter of Edward Vernon and Mamie Alene (Strayer) Erdman. She attended high school in Smith Center, Kansas and St. Joseph, Missouri, graduating in 1942. Belva received a degree in Cosmetology and owned the Belva Peters Beauty Shop for 20 years. She also owned Lookin' Good Hair Styles and the Peter's Retail Liquor Store until her retirement. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Kansas Coiffure Guild and Ladies of Columbus. Belva married Eugene F. Peters in Concordia, Kansas and he preceded her in death on April 15, 1976. She married Harry B. Bartlett Sr. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church on April 12, 1980. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2008. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Larry and Paul Erdman and a sister, Lucille Erdman Roscoe, and two step sons, Steven and Thomas Bartlett. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Wittman of Topeka, two grandsons, Gavin (Daylene) Wittman of Topeka, David (Lori) Wittman of Shawnee, Kansas, and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by a step son, Harry Bartlett Jr. of Topeka, four step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. She will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. followed by a Parish Rosary at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
