Frank Anton Janca, 81, of Topeka, after a brief illness, died April 5, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Galveston, Texas on August 16, 1933 the son of Anton and Lydia (Pish) Janca. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He retired from Santa Fe Railway after 33 years. Frank was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #534. He married Mary Ann Lamm at St. Henry's Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas on July 13, 1957. She preceded him in death on October 12, 1999. Frank, a devoted family man, is survived by his children, Karen (Kelly) Montgomery of Topeka, Fran (Mike) Gutowski of Topeka, Joe (Wendy) Janca of Mayetta, John (Ann) Janca of Topeka and Janet (Mark) Unrein of Topeka, a brother, Tony (Kathy) Janca of Shreveport, LA. Twelve grandchildren; Jason (Katie) Montgomery, Justin Montgomery, Jen Montgomery, Jordyn Montgomery, Nicole (Kirk) Bath, Annie (Jeremy) Branson, Joe Gutowski, Alex Janca, Alisha (Cory) Kelly, Austin Janca, Megan Unrein, Sara Unrein and seven great-grandchildren, Kaci, Carson, Mason, Raelyn, Reagan, Harrington Tyler and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters, Sophie Siller, Helen Niekamp, Agnes Scianna, and Rose Marie Janca. He will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Wednesday after 3:00 P.M. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
