Mary Lou Droegemueller, 85, of Topeka, Kansas, died April 2, 2015 at Atria Hearthstone. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa on February 12, 1930 the daughter of James and Margaret (Clarke) Duffy. She married Bill Droegemueller on August 24, 1974. He preceded her in death in 2012. She was a member of the Catholic Franciscan Sisters headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa from 1949 to 1969. She taught school in many different grade levels in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Kansas. She retired from Tecumseh North in 1994 after teaching 20 years. Mary was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. She married Leon Clark at St. Matthew Catholic Church on December 27, 2013, he survives. Mary is also survived by her son, David (Becca) Droegemueller and granddaughters, Abigail and Anna Droegemueller of Owasso, Oklahoma, Step children, Stephen (Lisa) Clark, Brian (Janelle) Clark, Janice Clark (Vincent), Teresa Clark Hothan (David), nine step grandchildren, Brett, Patrick and Alex Hothan; Ashley, Becca, Lauren, Erica, Bailey and Tanner Clark, and one step great grandson, Landry Hothan, a brother Leo (Marilyn) Duffy of West Des Moines, IA, and two sisters-in-law Pat Duffy and Carole Duffy and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Jack Duffy. Mary will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at St. Matthew Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. Graveside services will be at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Hanover, Kansas.
